Quiche: Bacon, Mushroom & Cheese
Set oven at 350° F
Prepare, or thaw, one 9" deep-dish pie crust.
Sprinkle into the bottom of the pie crust:
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice.
Fry, crumble and place into the bottom of the pie crust:
1/2 pound bacon
Saute' in the bacon fat, drain, and place into the bottom of the pie crust:
2 cups fresh chopped mushrooms
Sprinkle over the crumbled bacon in the pie crust:
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice.
In a large bowl, mix with a wisk, then pour over contents in pie crust:
5 eggs
1/2 Cup milk (2% fat)
1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/4 teaspoon crushed basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
Salt & Pepper to taste
Bake for 35 - 45 minutes at 350° until firm in the middle.
Note: 19 carbs in whole pie: 11 Carbs in the pie crust (see label), plus 8 carbs 1/2 cup milk.
