Eagle Brand Bread Pudding
w/ Orange Liqueur Sauce

Set oven to 350o

Place into a 2.5-quart, buttered baking dish:

      8 slices of stale white bread torn into pieces

Mix together then pour over the bread pieces:

      6 eggs
      3 cups milk
      1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
      2 cans Eagle Brand Milk
          (not evaporated milk)

Bake uncovered for 60 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean when inserted into the middle.

Serve warm or cold.
Garnish with whipped cream or with the orange liqueur sauce (shown below)

Orange Liqueur Sauce

Combine in a LARGE pan and bring to a boil:

      1 Stick butter
      1-1/2 Cups brown sugar, packed
      1 Cup whipping cream
      1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
      1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
      1/3 Cup Orange Liqueur
         -- or 1/2 tsp Orange Extract

Hard boil for 8 minutes. Cool.
Serve over individual servings of the bread pudding.
